A Look at Park & Garden
Naming Day Ceremonies
Having your Naming Day ceremony in a park or garden offers a
myriad of advantages, particularly with regard to photographs
and video. It is also an affordable option for many families,
whilst offering wide-open spaces for any children at the ceremony
to run free.
Naming Day ceremonies are always more interesting when there
are multitudes of children involved, so being near a supervised
playground or play area is a major advantage.
Given that you are able to get permission, you may decide to
hire a jumping castle. In addition, you can hire and entertainer
for children or even arrange some supervised outdoor games to
keep them busy.
The are also a range of other considerations when having you
naming day in a park or garden. Someone of these include:
- The weather (either rain of heat), and have a contingency
plan
- Available parking for your guests
- Access for any disabled guests
- Catering requirements (for refreshments)
- Any permissions that may be required by the council or other
authority (especially if you are panning a ritual that may impact
the environment)
- Any events that may clash with your ceremony
- Tables, chairs, and any required props or items for any rituals
that are to be performed
